Dialogue

I used AE again for this dialogue assignment. All of the mouth shapes are separate pieces and I created them in Illustrator.

Dialogue model sheet

I used the same character for the dialogue project and added facial expressions that and mouth movements to the model sheet

So the class had a choice between using Flash and After Effects for this project. I felt more confident using AE so that was what I used for this project. I created all of the characters parts in Illustrator and imported them into AE. I then began to construct and rig the character in AE.

Typography

I had a lot of fun doing this kinetic typography project. The song is from a Barbadian soca artist and I though that the meme faces would bring out more of the humor that is in the song. I used After Effects to create the whole thing.

Model sheet for frame by frame

These are the model sheets I created for the monkey in my frame by frame project

Frame by Frame

For the frame by frame project we were suppose to create a character that pushes or pulls something heavy. So I created a monkey that is on top of  coconut tree trying to pull a coconut off the branch. For the project we were suppose to only use Adobe Flash.

Strong Lightning

Stop Motion Tree from Daniel Harper on Vimeo.
This project was more time consuming than we expected. I helped out with the cutting of the pieces and the setting up and moving of the pieces. In addition to that I edited it all and did all the voices in it. We used a program called DragonFrame along with a camera to take a photo of each frame. I used After Effects to put together the frames in their proper positions and also to sync the voices with the characters.

Stop Motion Animatic

This is the animatic for the stop motion project. I was in a group with 3 other people and we had drawn out each frame, scanned the drawings and then added color to them in Photoshop.

For this project I used Adobe Flash for the first time. Was showing squeeze, squash and stretch on the bouncing ball.

Stop Motion - Bouncing Ball

Stop Motion - Bouncing Ball from Daniel Harper on Vimeo.

For this project the class was split into 3 groups of 5. We had to show how speed, gravity and impact can effect the appearance and the rise and fall of a ball. After my group and I came up with the initial impact of the ball it didn't take long after for us to come up with the full stop motion idea. We used construction paper as the medium and a D-SLR camera along with a program called Dragon Frame to create the video clip. Multiple pictures were taken to complete this video. We kept adding things in when ever one of us came up with a good idea, which made the process take longer but Dragon Frame was so easy and simple to use that adding frames wasn't stressful at all.
